Greetings and Welcome,
I started writing this post in March, but it never materialized onto my blog. I wanted to write something about the senseless killing of Trayvon Martin, and decided against that as well; however, my heartfelt prayers are with Trayvon’s parents and my hope is for true justice to prevail.
This month, I would like to discuss rules, and the affect they have on our lives. According to Wikipedia, rules are one of a set of explicit or understood regulations or principles governing conduct within a particular activity or sphere.
There is a saying that insanity is doing the same thing repeatedly expecting different results. Well that rather puts me in the mind of rules. Rules are like laws, you know they exist and should be followed, but you may not necessarily follow them, or you follow them and they are meaningless. Regulations are the control mechanisms that hold you accountable to the rules. The good thing about laws and legislations are that they continue to be amended. Rules and Regulations are not a bad thing, yet, there are times when we must acknowledge when to change the rules in our personal lives.
If you are not advancing the way you believe you should in your career, relationship or on your fitness program, maybe it is time to look at your internal rules. What are you telling yourself about this situation? Perhaps an outdated rule is holding you back. Maybe it is time to bend the rules in order to amend the situation.
Let me know what you think!
Peace & Love
